The Doctrine of Creation is an incredibly important one that has too often been neglected by the church, even Pentecostals.

Andrew Sandlin, the founder of the Center for Cultural Leadership, recently reviewed an excellent book on the Christian faith, one that leads with the importance of the doctrine. Summarizing his strong recommendation Colin Gunton’s book, The Christian Faith: An Introduction to Christian Doctrine, Andrew notes:

[T]here’s a crisis in our world today because of the loss of confidence in the foundation of creation. We rightly understand that theology collapses when we lose confidence in the Bible, but it’s equally true to say that the loss of the doctrine of creation precipitated that collapse. In fact, it’s likely correct to assume the loss of the truth of creation preceded the loss of confidence in the Bible. You can’t get creation wrong and get theology  — or anything else  — right. Creation buttresses everything else.

It seems to me that Andrew is correct, and this series, still being created, has taken several years to assemble into an extensive biblical and historical teaching project, has been created specifically to address the the wide range of Biblical claims that touch on every area of the Christian life.

This course is taught by Craig R. Dumont, Sr., Founder of Dominion Leadership Network and the creator of PentecostalPastor.com

Craig has 45 years of ministry experience with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and planted a church in Michigan that he pastored for 20 years. He has authored numerous articles on actively applying the Word of God in every area of life, including the family, business, economics, politics and education. He has been a speaker at conferences around the country and has served on panel discussions concerning religion and society at Michigan State University (near where he pastored). Originally the Vice President of the Center for Cultural Leadership, he continues to be listed as a Senior Fellow of Ministry and Business, and is thankful to be included with all their other awesome contributors. However, in reality he hasn’t contributed much to CCL over the past several years!
